Planning Board Minutes 09/08/2011
Chichester Planning Board
Minutes of Meeting
September 8, 2011

Members Present:  Vice-Chairman Thomas Jameson, Ex-Officio Jeffrey Jordan, Allen Mayville, Richard Moore, Thomas Houle, Alan Williams, and Jamie A Pike, Secretary.

Vice-Chairman Jameson called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.

Pursuant to RSA 673:11, Vice-Chairman Jameson appointed Mr. Houle and Mr. Williams as voting members for the purposes of this meeting in the absence Stanley Brehm and Richard Arell.

The minutes of August 4, 2011 were reviewed.  A correction was made to reflect that statements presented by the Road Advisory Committee were made by Mr. Jameson and Mr. Brehm and not by Mr. Moore whom was not present at the meeting.  A motion was made by Mr. Jameson and seconded by Mr. Jordan to approve the minutes as corrected.  Motion passes.

A representative of Great Meadow Campground was not present to speak on the merits of their proposal.

The Board discussed the upcoming Municipal Law Lecture Series.  There are three classes:
Sign Regulations and Home Occupations:  Accessory Uses, Difficult Issues
Preemption of Local Regulation:  Ejected from Your Own Game!
        Land Use Law Update
The classes are most closely being held in Derry at the municipal center on October 12, 19, and 26th.  Mr. Houle and Mr. Williams requested this evening to attend.  Mr. Pike and Mr. Mayville have both previously registered.  Mr. Pike will submit registrations for Mr. Williams and Mr.  Houle.

A few months ago there was discussion about pulling together the abutting town’s zoning to see what similarities (or differences) there were when compared to Chichester.  With the assistance of the CNHRPC, a map was provided to the Board showing the abutting towns and their zoning districts.  Colors were used to show areas of similar lot size requirements.  This map may be used to help guide a future redistricting in the Town of Chichester.  Copies of this map are available at the Chichester Planning Office.

The remainder of the meeting consisted of a class on Economic Development presented by Matt Monahan of the CNHRPC.  The class provided an overview of Economic Development Committees, their role in the community, and achievements that have been made in Pittsfield since they began an ED program.  The Board was very engaged in the discussion.  A copy of the presentation is attached to these minutes.

Being no further business, a motion was made by Mr. Mayville and seconded by Mr. Houle to adjourn the meeting at 8:20pm.  Motion passes.

Respectfully Submitted,

Jamie A Pike

Not approved until signed.

Thomas Jameson, Vice Chairman
